winter with them, and I run them all year round. With half tread I can get around nicely in 3-4" of fresh snow. With fresh tread, ground clearance was the limiting factor, not traction. They're wonderful in the rain too. I've never hydroplaned once, and the car feels rock solid. It should be noted that I have an NA, not a TT. The one downside of these tires is that the sidewalls are a bit softer than other performance tires, so they might feel a bit squirly if you plan on driving hard in dry conditions. The last issue is availability. Last time I checked, most places were low on stock of 225/50/16, and I'm not sure if they come in an appropriate size for TT rears.
